Andrew MacGregor called to Ordained Ministry in the United Church of Christ

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”  -Isaiah 43:19

Fall greetings to all of you! My name is Andrew MacGregor. Sally and I have lived in Ashland for the past 20 years. We are blessed with two children Peter (16) and Molly (14).

Throughout my life, God has been with me in the mountaintop experiences and in the valley of shadow. He has shown me His Grace, mercy, and love. I don’t deserve it, yet it is freely given.

As a result of receiving this radical love, grace, and acceptance by God/Jesus/Spirit, I am called to
ordained ministry in the United Church of Christ (UCC). Exploring and discerning a potential path to ordination is like standing on the edge of the unknown…exciting, a bit scary, and filled with promise. I humbly ask for your support on this journey.

With the blessing of our church’s Session, I now stand with you as a Member in Discernment (MID). I have submitted a letter to the Wisconsin Conference of the UCC requesting consideration as a MID. The church has submitted a letter of support for this process. In addition, a MID committee has been formed to serve as advisors/companions on this path I am following. I am grateful to Rev. Jim Deters, Kate Swanson, Jocelyn Langholz, and Rev. Bill Handy for being
willing to serve in this capacity.

I will keep you updated as I learn more in this process of discernment. Towards this beginning, I humbly ask you for your support and prayers as I continue to learn to trust and be in relationship with God/Jesus/Spirit. I look forward to the adventure.
